mason jones

2008 ram 2500

Transmission: FMVB 1200+ HP

Power: unknown

Built for the Strip. Proven Under Pressure.

Mason Jones' race truck isn't built for daily driving, towing, or cruising around town. This is a dedicated no-prep and drag racing machine, built with one purpose in mind—putting serious horsepower to the ground and competing when every fraction of a second matters.

In the world of no-prep racing, horsepower is only part of the equation. Getting that power to the track consistently is what separates a competitive race truck from one that struggles to make a clean pass. From aggressive launches to rapid gear changes under full throttle, every component of the drivetrain is pushed to its limits.

Backing Mason's combination is one of our Thompson Transmission 1200+ HP 48RE transmissions, engineered specifically for extreme horsepower applications where strength, consistency, and durability are non-negotiable.

Our 1200+ HP 48RE is designed to handle the tremendous torque and demanding conditions associated with competitive diesel drag racing. Featuring upgraded internal components, increased clutch holding capacity, and performance-focused modifications, this transmission is built to withstand repeated hard launches, aggressive shifts, and the punishment that comes with serious competition.

Unlike a street-driven performance truck, Mason's race truck operates in an environment where every pass puts the drivetrain to the test. No-prep surfaces present an additional challenge, with constantly changing traction conditions that can place unpredictable loads on the transmission and drivetrain.

Mason Jones' race truck represents exactly what our high-horsepower transmission program is built for—dedicated competition vehicles that demand strength, consistency, and performance when it matters most.

Built for racers. Engineered for extreme horsepower. Ready for the next pass.

Transmission: FMVB 1200+ HP

Power: 1500~

Built to Push Limits. Proven at the Track.

Ethan Perry's 6.7 Cummins is anything but your average diesel truck. Built with one goal in mind—serious horsepower and even more serious performance—this truck is a perfect example of what happens when you combine the right parts, aggressive fueling, and a transmission built to handle the abuse.

Under the hood sits a built 6.7L Cummins featuring Flux body-modified injectors, a 72mm VS Racing turbocharger, and a healthy dose of nitous. This combination delivers the fuel and airflow needed to make serious power, with nitrous taking things to another level when it's time to get down the track.

Backing it all is one of our Thompson Transmission 1200+ HP 48RE transmissions, built to withstand the extreme torque, hard launches, and demanding conditions that come with competitive diesel racing.

This isn't a truck that spends its life sitting in a shop or looking pretty at a show. Ethan puts it to work at the track, pushing the combination and giving us valuable real-world feedback on the products we build.

At Thompson Transmission, we believe the best way to stand behind our products is to put them through the same abuse our customers demand of them. Ethan's truck represents exactly that philosophy.

Built for Big Power. Engineered to Handle the Abuse.

Cutter Knight's 6.7 Cummins is anything but your average diesel truck. Built with one goal in mind—serious horsepower and uncompromising performance—this truck is a perfect example of what happens when you combine aggressive fueling, a large single turbocharger, and a transmission engineered to handle extreme power.

Under the hood sits a 6.7L Cummins featuring S&S Diesel Motorsport 200% over injectors, a 14mm high-speed CP3 injection pump, and a VS Racing VS476 turbocharger. This combination provides the fuel volume and airflow needed to support an extremely capable high-horsepower setup, delivering the kind of performance that pushes factory components well beyond their limits.

Backing it all is one of our Thompson Transmission 1200+ HP 48RE transmissions, specifically built to withstand the tremendous torque, aggressive power delivery, and demanding conditions associated with high-horsepower Cummins applications.

When you're dealing with this level of fueling and airflow, having a transmission capable of transferring that power to the ground is critical. Our 1200+ HP 48RE is designed with the strength, clutch capacity, and durability needed to perform when the power comes on hard.

Cutter Knight's Cummins represents exactly what our high-horsepower transmission program is built around: serious combinations that demand serious drivetrain components.

1996 ram 2500

Transmission: FMVB 1200+ HP

Power: 1000~

Show Truck Looks. Race Truck Power.

Braxton Show's 1996 Dodge Ram is proof that you don't have to sacrifice horsepower to build a truck that turns heads everywhere it goes.

Starting with a classic 1996 second-generation 4WD Dodge Ram, Braxton took this build far beyond what Dodge ever imagined back in the '90s. Sitting tall on an 8-inch coilover suspension lift and a massive set of 26x16 wheels, this truck has the kind of presence that demands attention before you ever hear it fire up.

But the real story is what's underneath the hood.

Gone is the original 12-valve Cummins, replaced with a 5.9L common rail Cummins pushing right around 1,000 horsepower. This isn't your typical lifted show truck with a little extra fuel and a big set of wheels. Braxton built something that combines head-turning looks with the horsepower to back them up.

Putting that power to the ground is one of our Thompson Transmission 1200+ HP transmissions, engineered to handle the tremendous torque of a high-horsepower Cummins while delivering the performance and reliability a build of this caliber demands.

At Thompson Transmission, we build transmissions for more than just dedicated race trucks. Whether you're chasing records at the track, hauling heavy loads, or building a one-of-a-kind show truck, we believe your transmission should be every bit as capable as the engine in front of it.

Built to turn heads. Powered to turn tires. Backed by TDP.

2012 ram 2500

Transmission: FMVB 1000+ HP

Power: 1000~

Built for the Street. Ready for Serious Horsepower.

Cutter Knight's 2012 6.7 Cummins is anything but your average daily driver. Built to deliver impressive horsepower while maintaining the drivability and reliability needed on the street, this truck is a perfect example of what happens when you combine the right fueling upgrades, a properly matched turbocharger, and a transmission built to handle the additional power.

Under the hood sits a 6.7L Cummins featuring 100% over injectors, a 10mm CP3 injection pump, and a VS Racing VS472 turbocharger. This combination provides the increased fuel volume and airflow needed to produce serious horsepower while maintaining the versatility of a street-driven diesel truck.

Backing it all is one of our Thompson Transmission Stage 4 Street Sweeper 48RE transmissions, engineered to support applications producing up to 1,000 horsepower. Designed for high-performance street trucks, the Street Sweeper is built to withstand aggressive acceleration, substantial torque, and the demands of increased engine output without compromising the performance our customers expect.

When you're pushing well beyond factory horsepower levels, the transmission becomes one of the most critical components of the entire build. Our Stage 4 Street Sweeper is designed with increased clutch holding capacity, upgraded internal components, and performance-focused enhancements to deliver the strength and consistency required for demanding applications.

Cutter Knight's 2012 Cummins represents exactly what our Street Sweeper lineup was designed for—a powerful, street-capable truck backed by a transmission built to put that horsepower to the ground.

Built for the street. Engineered for horsepower. Trusted to perform.

2019 ram 2500

Transmission: FMVB 800 HP

Power: 600~

Built to Stand Out. Engineered to Perform.

Ty Bonin's 2019 Ram 2500 is far from your typical fifth-generation Cummins. With a combination of upgraded airflow, aggressive styling, and a drivetrain built to handle serious horsepower, this truck represents what happens when modern diesel performance meets proven transmission technology.

Under the hood sits a 6.7L Cummins featuring a second-generation-style turbo swap with a S467 turbocharger. This setup replaces the factory turbocharger configuration with a performance-oriented system designed to increase airflow, support higher horsepower levels, and deliver the unmistakable sound and performance diesel enthusiasts have come to appreciate.

Backing it all is one of our Thompson Transmission 800 HP Full Manual Valve Body (FMVB) 48RE transmissions, bringing the strength and simplicity of the legendary 48RE platform to a modern fifth-generation Ram.

Unlike a conventional electronically controlled automatic transmission, the full manual valve body gives the driver direct control over gear selection and shift timing. Combined with our performance-focused internal upgrades, increased clutch holding capacity, and reinforced components, this transmission is engineered to withstand aggressive driving, hard acceleration, and the substantial torque produced by modified Cummins engines.

Swapping a 48RE into a fifth-generation Ram isn't just about replacing the factory transmission. It's about creating a drivetrain that offers greater driver control, proven performance capabilities, and the durability needed for demanding high-horsepower applications.

Ty Bonin's 2019 Ram 2500 is a perfect example of that philosophy—a modern Cummins powered by an upgraded turbocharger and backed by a purpose-built, full manual 48RE transmission.

Modern Cummins power. Proven 48RE strength. Built to perform.
